Tony Khan Reveals His Wrestling Dream Match

During a recent interview with Who’s The Champ, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan was asked to name a wrestling dream match. Khan picked a potential matchup between CMLL and AEW star, Mistico, and reigning AEW International Champion Kazuchika Okada as his dream matchup.

Speaking on the topic, Tony Khan stated, “Well, that’s a great question. I think there are so many phenomenal stars throughout the world of wrestling. In Mexico, one of the greatest wrestlers is Mistico. Mistico is a great star. He’s been a great champion. In AEW is a World Trios Champion, and he’s a phenomenal wrestler and a legend.” He continued, “Another great legend in wrestling is the International Champion in AEW, Kazuchika Okada. I think Kazuchika Okada versus Mistico would be an incredible match, and they’re two great legends of the sport, and I would love to see that.”

Okada is currently slated to defend his AEW International Title against Konosuke Takeshita later this month at AEW Double or Nothing 2026. As previously reported, Mistico is now signed to a dual contract with both AEW and CMLL.

Okada and Mistico have faced each other before in tag team bouts. However, they’ve never had a one-on-one singles match before in their in-ring careers.
