UFC’s Arjan Bhullar Says That He Passed on WWE Career After Jinder Mahal Described the Schedule
– UFC fighter Arjan Bhullar spoke with The Sun and revealed that he considered a WWE career, but backed off after learning what the schedule was like. Bhullar, who made his promotional debut at UFC 215 and became the first Indian-born MMA fighter to win a UFC fight, said that after he competed the London Summer Olympic in freestyle wrestling he had the option of both MMA career and WWE.
“We were in talks after the Olympics with both the UFC and WWE to figure out the next step career wise,” Bhullar said. “The WWE wanted me to come down to the development center in Florida and go through that.”
Bhullar, who is a friend of Jinder Mahal’s, asked him for some advice. “I actually reached out to Jinder and asked him about the schedule and what it would look like if I were to take that opportunity,” he recalled. “I realized how crazy it is – they’re never at home. I’m a pretty family-orientated guy and I still have that competitive edge as well. For those two reasons I was able to go the UFC route.”
Bhullar hasn’t ruled out appearing for WWE though, saying, “Down the line – to dabble in the WWE – I’m open to that. I grew up on WWE.”
