Details On Who Decided to Bring Pat McAfee Into Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton Feud

Pat McAfee is now part of Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes’ feud heading into WrestleMania 42, and a new report has details on how McAfee got involved. As noted, McAfee was revealed as the person who has been calling Orton to give him advice heading into WrestleMania. He helped Orton attack Rhodes and ranted about how Attitude Era fans are being left behind.

According to Bodyslam+, the decision to bring in Pat McAfee in was not made by Triple H or creative. Rather, it came from Ari Emanuel and TKO executives. As noted, Emanuel believes that McAfee is a star, and the report notes that, according to a source, the belief is that McAfee will elevate the feud and “get it to where it needs to be.”

It was noted that (obviously) McAfee’s recent comments about the business having passed him by were kayfabe. It is noted that TKO firmly believes that mainstream names will help bring more eyes to WWE and sell more tickets for WrestleMania 42.

WrestleMania 42 is set to take place on April 18th and 19th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will air live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and on Netflix internationally. 411 will have live coverage of the show.
