AEW Women’s World Champion Willow Nightingale has reportedly suffered a legitimate injury ahead of her title defense against Mercedes Moné at All In: London. During a backstage segment on last night’s Dynamite, Mercedes Moné ambushed Nightingale, following up on her attack on the champion at AEW Close Up. Moné stomped on Willow’s hand, and following that, the champion was seen grimacing in pain.

Following last night’s episode, Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer reported to his X subscribers that Willow Nightingale has suffered a legitimate hand injury. However, he did add that she is expected to work through the pain and compete at Wembley Stadium this Sunday.

“Willow’s hand injury is said to be legitimate, but she is expected to be able to work the show this weekend,” Alvarez wrote. [Quote via F4WOnline]

Willow has had a hard time dealing with injuries over the past few months. A shoulder injury in May forced her to vacate the AEW TBS Championship and rule herself out of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. She was ultimately replaced by the eventual winner and her All In opponent, Mercedes Mone. Willow returned to AEW TV on the July 8 episode of Dynamite and won a Casino Gauntlet match to earn a shot at the Women’s World Championship at Redemption.

At the July 26 event, Nightingale defeated Thekla to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship to set up a match with Mercedes at All In: London.
