Woman Pulls Gun on Wrestler at AWF Event
– In a scary moment, a woman entered the ring and pulled a loaded gun on a wrestler at an American Wrestling Federation show last Thursday. The Rome Rome News-Tribune reports that a fifty year-old woman from LaFayette, Georgia pulled the gun on Paul Lee during the Rinngold, Georgia show.
Lee was wrestling a babyface named Iron Mann and had him tied up in the ring, hitting him with chairshots. That brought Patricia Anne Crowe into the ring, where she used a knife to cut Mann loose and then pointed the loaded gun at Lee’s face. She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct. Crowe also pointed the gun at Robbie Rude, who was acting as the commissioner for the show.
Lee said, “I had him tied up and was beating on him, and this lady jumps up with a knife, cuts him loose, and then pulled a loaded gun on me. She had that thing loaded with one in the chamber and the safety off. All it would have taken was for her to get shaky with that thing and it could have fired.”
He added, “[Crowe’s] been to several shows over the years off and on, but she was acting like a nut Saturday night.”
Crowe admitted to police that she pulled the gun on Lee due to back-and-forth banter Lee had engaged her in. Police Cpl. Chris Faulk said, “She said, ‘he was talking mean to me, and I got mad. I guess I just let my temper get the best of me and I pulled my pistol on him.’”
Crowe is out on a $4,000 bond, which Lee said he’s not happy about. Lee said that the AWF plans to install metal detectors at the entrances for their shows going forward.
