Xelina posted a video featuring her mother’s story of meeting and knowing her father in honor of the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks. The WWE aluma posted the StoryCorps video to her Twitter account on Friday, an animated video in which her mother Monigue Ferrer talks about meeting Michael Trinidad and how they eventually split, and how Michael called her during the 9/11 attacks knowing he was going to die as he was in one of the Twin Towers.
Xelina wrote in the post:
“On this 25 year anniversary of 9/11.. I wanted to share my Mother’s StoryCorps video. A way to get a glimpse of that day thru our eyes.”
The former Zelina Vega, who exited WWE in late April as part of the post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts, spoke in an interview earlier this week about the 25th anniversary of the attacks. She said in the piece:
“In a weird way, it still doesn’t feel like it’s been that long. It’s crazy to even say 25 years. I’ve had to really sit there and count it out, like, really? For me, it (the 9/11 anniversary) is about making sure my dad is someone I take with me every step of the way — family-wise and career-wise.”
