ROH TV 6.01.16

OFFICIAL RESULTS
– ACH defeated Lio Rush @ 4:14 via pin [**¾]
– Non-Title Match: The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Roppongi Vice and The Addiction @ 11:14 via pin [***¼]
– The Elite defeated Michael Elgin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, & Yoshitatsu @ 11:50 via pin [***½]

– We get video from Dearborn, MI where ACH and Matt Sydal went their separate ways. ACH wanted to become his own man and not have Sydal hold his hand anymore.

ACH vs. Lio Rush: During the match Silas young appeared and invaded the commentary table. He saw 12-seconds of Ricochet vs. Ospreay and decided he hated all men that did flippy-dos and play video games. ACH and Rush worked a fats paced back and forth with Young calling them children that wrestle like hey are in a video game. Rush hit a dive as Young continued to be a grumpy old man on commentary, noting that Rush and ACH are not real men. Back in the ring, Rush hit a nice looking tornado DDT for a near fall. ACH made his comeback and took Rush out of his boots with a clothesline. Really nice back and forth stuff here, fast paced counters and most importantly it was smooth. ACH would counter with a superkick and brainbuster, the 450 finished it. They made the most of their time, but I don’t like Rush losing in such a short amount of time after an effort lie he had with Jay Lethal. I have no faith in their booking of Rush.

– Post match Young got in the ring, and ACH tried to get him to leave, but Young attacked him and tossed Rush to the floor. He hit misery on ACH and left the ring.

– We get highlights of The Addiction vs. War Machine, where the Addiction won the tag titles.

– The Addiction made their way to the ring, and cut a promo about being the tag team champions once again, meaning that all was right with the world. They ran down the crowd, and then said that they knew that they are the undisputed and undefeated tag team champions. The Motor City Machine Guns made their way out to the ring, and claimed that the Addiction were middle aged douchebags. They also reminded the Addiction that they defeated them twice. They wanted a tag title match, but then Roppongi Vice appeared. They wanted the same thing. Daniels denied being both old and bald. He accepted the match, and if either won, they would get a title shot at Best in the World.

Non-Title Match: The Addiction vs. Roppongi Vice vs. The Motor City Machine Guns: Nigel admitted that the Addiction did his job for him, continuing the trend that he is completely useless. The Addiction tried to cheat and get an advantage, but Roppongi Vice and the Guns took control of things and cleared out the Addiction. Kaz tried to fight back, but the Guns maintained control. Daniels scored with a cheap shot, allowing Kaz to take control of things. The champions worked over Shelley with double teams, taking the heat. They worked through a commercial break, and when we retuned the Addiction kept working over Shelley. Shelley made the comeback and tagged din Sabin, who ran wild for a bit. It broke down, Sabin hit a dive but Daniels fought back and Trent tagged and worked over Daniels. Double teams by Vice but Shelley made the save. Daniels tried to fight off Vice, ate knee strikes and they looked for strong zero, but Kaz made the save. BME by Daniels connected, but then the Guns returned and connected with double teams. They hit made in Detroit, and scored the victory. A good match overall to set the Motor City Machine Guns as the new top contenders. The finish was a bit flat, but this was fun overall.

– Roderick Strong cut a promo on Jay Briscoe, hyping a match for Sunday in Columbus, OH.

– We got a promo from Cole and the Young Bucks. They hyped their superkick party from the PPV, and Cole joining Bullet Club. Cole claimed Bullet Club was new and improved, and no one can stop them because ROH will always be their world.

– Matt Taven is out on commentary. Nigel announced BJ Whitmer vs. Steve Corino for Best in the World. The match will be a fight without honor.

– We then get footage of Adam Page joining Bullet Club in Dearborn, MI. They laid out a ton of guys and Page hung Sabin with a noose. They didn’t show it al, sighting, “broadcast standards.” That didn’t save us from months and months of BJ Whiter, why stop now?

The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) vs. Michael Elgin, Hiroshi Tanahashi, & Yoshitatsu: Yoshitatsu is sporting his Triple H cosplay apparel. They brawled right away, the Elite were sent to the floor and Yoshitatsu and then Tanahashi hit dives. Elgin then did a big dive to wipe out the pile. Elgin ran wild for a bit with power moves, but then Omega caught him with a dragon suplex. Yoshitatsu got tossed, Tanahashi fired up and took on all three men until he ate superkicks. They then did the Terminator stomps gimmick and pose leading to triple dives by the Elite. The Elite worked the heat on Tanahashi, with Omega hitting a moonsault for a near fall. Matt did the cartwheels and back flips before doing the back rake on Tanahashi. They worked through the commercial break, and when they came back, Tanahashi paid the bucks back with back rakes and got the tag to Elgin. Elgin did power moves and suplexes, tossing the Bucks around including suplexing both at the same time. After a powerslam to Omega, Elgin hit the super falcon arrow (HE DID THE DEAL) for a near fall. it broke down with everyone in, we got superkicks and then the Meltzer driver was countered as Elgin caught Nick and powerbombed him to the floor (and broke his ribs). They triple teamed Matt, but Omega made the save, Matt used the cold spray on Yoshitatsu, allowing Omega and he Bucks to triple superkick him but he kicked out. Omega finally finished him with the one winged angel. Overall really fun and frantic main event match, that never slowed and it was simply enjoyable.

– Next week, Jay Lethal faces Donovan Dijak.

* End scene.

* Thanks for reading.

This was a good show as far as the wrestling went and also for announcing some matches (Lethal vs. Briscoe, Addiction vs. Guns, Corino vs. Whitmer). It’s nice to get some fresh ROH TV.
