Mauricio Rua spoke with MMAjunkie about his win over Corey Anderson at UFC 198. Some highlights are below:

On getting his second win in a row: “It’s very good to have consecutive wins. I think the victories always bring you more confidence, so for sure you take one step at a time. I face each fight as a goal and a dream. … I have a feeling of ‘mission accomplished.’ I want to relax with my family and start thinking of the next one.”

On his accomplishments in the UFC: “Thankfully I’m a guy that’s very accomplished in my career, and I face each fight as a dream. I fight in the UFC, and the UFC is really the World Cup of MMA, so every fight is going to be tough. The guys are going to be very well prepared, and every fight is a dream for me. My next fight is to win my next (bout).”

On finishing fights: “Anyone who knows me knows I’m a guy that goes for the knockout. I’m always looking to end the fight. I’m not a guy that takes a fight to the end. I’m always looking for the knockout regardless of if I’m winning or not. It’s very tiring. It takes a lot of your stamina. I train very hard. I train my stamina a lot.”
