UPDATEDx3: Enzo Amore Releases Statement on Rape Allegation
UPDATE 3: Enzo Amore has released a statement through his lawyer addressing the allegations of rape levied against him, which led to his WWE release. You can see the statement transcribed (as well as the original tweet) below:
“Over the last two days, Philomena Sheahan has made multiple public accusations against Eric Arndt (also known as Enzo Amore with the WWE), including allegations of sexual misconduct concerning an October 2017 incident in Phoenix. Mr. Arndt fully and unequivocally denies those accusations. He is cooperating with the authorities in this manner and looks forward to having it resolved in a timely manner. Neither Mr. Arndt nor his counsel will be making any further public comments on this matter.”

UPDATEDx2: Deadspin’s David Bixenspan also took to Twitter to say that he believes WWE’s release of Enzo was because he kept them in the dark regarding the fact that the police were investigating rape accusations against him.

UPDATED: Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, who originally broke the Enzo story, posted the following on Twitter noting that, based on his source, Enzo was aware of the allegations against him and failed to tell WWE about them until they became public knowledge. This may be why WWE moved so quick from suspension to the release…
I was told this morning that Enzo Amore was aware of the allegations and didn't clue WWE in.
