Note On Potential Matches For AEW Full Gear 2026

The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) has provided an update on the potential matches that could be added to AEW Full Gear in the coming weeks.

The eighth annual Full Gear event will emanate from the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona, on November 14. So far, four matches have been confirmed for the show.

They are:

-> The Young Bucks [c] vs. Jake Doyle & Mark Davis for the AEW World Tag Team Championship
-> The Brawling Birds [c] vs. Wrathlander for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship
-> Hangman Page & Brodido [c] vs. Swerve Strickland & The New Level for the World Trios Championship
-> Will Ospreay [c] vs. Kyle Fletcher for the AEW World Championship

As noted, Jon Moxley challenged The Cut to an Anarchy in the Arena Match for Full Gear this past Wednesday on Dynamite. Meltzer noted that the match is all but confirmed for the November 14 event, with Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, and Gabe Kidd taking on any five out of the seven members of the newly formed faction.

Though AEW has announced a standard match for the World Trios Championship for Full Gear, Swerve Strickland has been insistent on it being a Texas Death Match. Meltzer reported that the gruesome stipulation is likely to be added to the match.

Additionally, Mercedes Mone is likely to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Marina Shafir on November 14. An International Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Adam Copeland and the final bout of the Best of Five Series between FTR and MCMG are also reportedly in the works.

Meanwhile, Queen Aminata could defend her newly won TBS Championship against former champion Persephone at Full Gear. A rematch between Tommaso Ciampa and National Champion Andrade El Idolo is still being pushed, but Meltzer noted that it’s currently not clear, as a match between Ciampa and Ilja Dragunov is also a possibility. Finally, a rematch between Samoa Joe and Jack Perry could also make the card.
