Warner Bros. Developing ALF Reboot Series

August 1, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Not even Melmacians are safe from being resurrected for modern television consumption, as Warner Bros. is working on a reboot of ALF. TV Line reports that the reboot is in the early stages of development. The studio is currently looking for a writer for the project.

The original sitcom aired from 1986 through 1990 and saw ALF — aka Gordon Shumway, an alien from the planet Melmac — crash-land on Earth and be taken in by the middle-class suburban Tanner family. The character has remained a staple of pop culture over the years and has been referenced and even made appearances in ads, shows, comics and films over the years.

At this time, it is not known how much involvement series co-creator Paul Fusco, who wrote the series and voiced ALF, will have in the possible reboot.
