Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reboot Changes Directors A Week Into Filming

There are signs of trouble for the Sawyer clan, as the Fede Alvarez-produced Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot has changed directors a week into production. Deadline reports that the film, which is written by Chris Thomas Devlin and is being produced by Legendary with hopes of a new franchise, has lost Andy & Ryan Tohill. The two directors exited the project due to creative differences while filming in Bulgaria.

The studio has moved quickly, bringing in Tejano director David Blue Garcia to take up the helm. All the footage that had been shot in the past week will be thrown out, and the filming will start over. The move came because Legendary did not like what it was seeing from the filming thus far.

Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Jacob Latimore, and Moe Dunford star in the new film, which is set in the present day and goes back to the roots of the original film. There’s no official comment from the production.
