UPDATED: Tony Khan Gives Update on Keith Lee’s Status For Tonight’s AEW Dynamite

UPDATE: Tony Khan has given an update on Keith Lee’s status for tonight’s Fyter Fest episode of AEW Dynamite, noting that Lee will still be in action. Khan appeared on Busted Open Radio earlier today and confirmed that Lee is at tonight’s show and that Lee’s tweet is unrelated to any potential appearances keeping him from competing.

“Keith is here,” Khan said (per Wrestling Inc). “He is wrestling tonight. He had a family situation. I don’t want [to get into it], it’s not my place. But Keith is here and here to wrestle, as I understand it. I can’t really comment on what’s happening, but we’re going to support him through what is happening.”

Lee is set to team with Swerve Strickland to face The Young Bucks and the team of Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks. The Bucks’ AEW World Tag Team Championships will be on the line.

ORIGINAL: In a post on Twitter, Keith Lee revealed that he recently got some bad news, leading to speculation that he will not appear at AEW Fyter Fest tonight. It’s unknown what the news could be or if he is injured. For what it’s worth, AEW was still promoting him in the match as recently as an hour ago.

He wrote: “Got some very much less than stellar news today….No matter the results, tomorrow’s match belongs to my two brothers. It’s all I can do until I return. Love you boys.”
