Nia DaCosta In Talks To Direct Second Film In 28 Years Later Trilogy
Sony Pictures has landed on a director for the second film in their upcoming 28 Years Later trilogy, with Nia DaCosta in talks. Deadline reports that DaCosta (Candyman) is in discussions with the studio to helm the second film in the new trilogy, which was first revealed back in January.
Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are reuniting for the trilogy, which is a follow-up to the 2002 zombie flick 28 Days Later and its 2007 sequel 28 Weeks Later. Boyle is directing the first film and Garland will write all the movies. Boyle, Garland, Andrew Macdonald and Peter Rice are producing with 28 Days Later star Cillian Murphy executive producing.
Plot details have been kept under wraps for the films, which were previously reported to have a budget in the area of $60 million range.
