UPDATE: A new report is disputing the notion that Britt Baker is trying to get out of her AEW contract. Fightful Select reports that every source that they’ve spoken to has “vehemently denied” that Baker is trying to exit the company. Those familiar with Baker’s current situation said that the idea that Baker wanted out of AEW or had communicated that to AEW was something they haven’t heard.

It was noted that in relation to the quote Baker shared on social media, Baker frequently shares and comments on posts from the page that she shared from. People in AEW said that they haven’t been told of any desire Baker has to leave when they see her on the convention circuit. She is not currently booked for Starrcast over All In: Texas weekend; there is no word on whether she’s expected to be in the city for All In.

Baker still has “well over” a year left on her contract, and the site notes that if AEW added time for injury there is a chance she could be under contract until partway into 2027.

Baker had been set for a match with Serena Deeb late last year that never happened and AEW sources said Baker had been open to returning to TV but that there were “hold ups” in the talks to bring her back. There’s no word on where those holdups came from. There had been internal talks about her being brought back for a match at Double or Nothing but it isn’t clear of Baker herself was part of those discussions or if she was aware of them.

ORIGINAL: According to a new report from Mark O’Brien of WrestleMobs and Bodyslam.net (via Wrestling Inc), Dr. Britt Baker, DMD is said to be actively trying to leave AEW, which has been the rumor for some time.

Baker herself added fuel to the fire with a post on her Instagram Story. The following quote was highlighted: “Same water. The only thing that changed its value was the place.

There have been rumors that Baker has been on the outs with AEW for a while. It had been reported back in January that there were people in the company that didn’t like Baker, which is why Tony Khan hadn’t been booking her. Although other reports suggested that was overblown. Either way, she hasn’t appeared on television since November, when she was in the beginning of a feud with Serena Deeb. It’s believed she signed a five-year deal in 2021, which would suggest that her current deal isn’t up until 2026. Due to the fact she has spent time away because of injuries in the past, AEW could potentially add time to that contract if they wanted.
