Mayu Iwatani recently spoke about moving from Marigold to STARDOM and how she may not have made the jump earlier in her career. Iwatani signed with Marigold at the start of May after exiting STARDOM, where she spent all of her career up to that point. She spoke about making the jump in an interview with Proresu-TODAY’s Hiroshi Arai, noting that she feels like her work-life balance is better now.
“I feel like I have more days off compared to before,” Iwatani said with a laugh. “When I was with my previous organization, there was constant filming and interviews between matches, but now I have a good balance between my work and private life and I feel very fulfilled.”
She continued, “I was anxious before I went. I wondered if it would be better not to go. I considered that staying put would be safer. The old me would have chosen to stay put and stay safe.”
Iwatani is the Marigold Superfly Champion, having won the title from Victoria Yuzuki on May 24th.
