AEW News: Leila Grey Set for Live Concert Performance, Chris Jericho Spotlights the Late Gerry Morrow, Full Death Before Dishonor Match Video

– As noted, AEW wrestler Leila Grey recently released her first album. She’s also scheduled for a concert on August 19 at the Bowery Electric in New York City.

– AEW star Chris Jericho paid tribute to the late wrestler Gerry Morrow in a new episode of Talk Is Jericho, with appearances by Lance Storm, Don Callis, and Paul Lazenby:

Gerry Morrow was one of the all-time great territory wrestlers, a master heel, a world traveler, and one of the toughest (and funniest) guys to ever step in the ring! He was also a mentor and great friend to Jericho, Lance Storm, AEW’s Don Callis, and Paul Lazenby. Hear about Gerry’s legendary giant-hand slaps (and the poor referee who took six in a row), his love for bumping and selling backdrops, and the time he sang Prince’s “Scandalous” at the top of his lungs during a 3am road trip. Don remembers touring South Africa with Gerry and how his toughness made dangerous situations feel safe. Lance talks about wrestling in Beirut with Gerry, learning to call matches despite Gerry’s thick accent, and one specific crazy “steel can” spot! Paul shares the story of Gerry boxing his ears in his very first tag match, and how Gerry later pulled him aside with calm, constructive advice instead of ripping him a new one. They also cover Gerry’s days in Japan, his Stampede Wrestling legacy, why Vince McMahon & WWF never called him, and the immense respect Gerry earned from Bret Hart and every peer who ever worked with him. Plus, ribs, road stories, and lots of locker room laughs!
