Taz Set To Be Inducted Into 2300 Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame

Taz will be inducted into the 2300 Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame this weekend. PWInsider reports that Tony Khan made the announcement after this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite went off the air in a post-show segment that Taz didn’t know was coming.

According to the report, after the show went off air, most of the AEW roster came out wearing the Team Taz Dojo shirts with KISS’ “War Machine” played. Taz’s ECW theme was a riff on the song. Taz’s wife and HOOK then came out and Khan said that he couldn’t think of a better way to end the first night of their residency at the 2300 Arena than pay homage to Taz, calling him the “greatest legend in the history of this building.”

Taz joked that he got worked by his wife and son and that it wasn’t the first time he was worked in the arena, thanking AEW and the fans before talking about how AEW has a fighting spirit like ECW’s but bigger and with more money. Khan then announced that they would pay tribute to Taz when his banner is raised in the building at the AEW Collision taping.

Taz is the 26th inductee into the 2300Arena Hardcore Hall of Fame, joining Terry Funk, Sabu, The Public Enemy, Tod Gordon, The Sandman, Shane Douglas, The Pitbulls, Chris Candido, Eddie Gilbert, Tommy Dreamer, The Blue Meanie, Jerry Lynn, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, 2 Cold Scorpio, Rob Van Dam, The Dudley Boyz, Road Warrior Hawk, ECW Arena fans and Charlie Bruzesse.
