Dominik Mysterio to Defend Mega Championship vs. El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA Rey de Reyes

AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio’s next title defense has been confirmed. The Judgment Day member will defend his gold against former champion El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA Rey de Reyes this coming March.

Vikingo earned a shot at Dominik’s title by defeating El Grande Americano in a number-one contender’s match on the January 17th edition of Lucha Libre AAA on FOX, thanks to interference from Dorian Roldan and Omos.

The trio opened tonight’s episode of AAA. During the segment, Dominik appeared on the big screen and revealed that he would defend the Mega Championship against Vikingo in the main event of AAA Rey de Reyes.

The 29th annual Rey de Reyes is set to take place on March 14, 2026.

Dominik Mysterio has not wrestled since suffering a shoulder injury during a tag team match against his father and Rey Fenix at AAA Guerra de Titanes this past December. Apart from holding the Mega Championship, he is also in possession of the WWE Intercontinental Title. He captured the belt from John Cena at Survivor Series: WarGames after initially dropping it to the 17-time World Champion on an episode of RAW in November 2025.
