It’s All Hands on Deck for Toys vs. Tech in Official Trailer for Toy Story 5

Walt Disney Studios and Pixar debuted a new trailer and poster today for the upcoming sequel, Toy Story 5. You can check out the newly revealed trailer and poster image below.

In the new movie, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang are back. However, their jobs as toys are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee), a new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what’s best for Bonnie. With Lilypad’s arrival, it looks like playtime could finally be over.

The new trailer also teases Woody and Buzz’s long-awaited reunion after Woody decides to leave the group in Toy Story 4, choosing to help lost toys. With the toys facing the tech devices of today, it’s now all hands on deck with some familiar and all-new characters.

New cast member sfor the upcoming sequel include Craig Robinson as Atlas, a cheerful talking GPS hippo toy; Shelby Rabara as the excitable camera toy Snappy; Scarlett Spears as the now 8-year-old Bonnie; Mykal-Michelle Harris as Blaze, an independent 8-year-old girl who loves animals; and Matty Matheson as the tech-fearing toy, Dr. Nutcase. Also, Conan O’Brien will be voicing Smarty Pants.

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and Tony Hale are all back as the respective voices of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and Forky. Other returning cast members include John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Wallace Shawn as Rex, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, Kristen Schaal as the plastic triceratops toy Trixie, Bonnie Hunt as Dolly, and Keanu Reeves returns as Canadian daredevil toy Duke Caboom.

Meanwhile, Jeff Bergman takes over as the voice of Mr. Potato Head; Anna Vocino joins as Mrs. Potato Head, and Melissa Villaseñor voices Karen Beverly, Bonnie’s homemade toy fashioned out of a plastic knife; John Hopkins is the dignified hedgehog plush toy Mr. Pricklepants; and Ernie Hudson takes over as the voice of the action figure Combat Carl.

Toy Story 5 is directed by Academy Award winner Andrew Stanton, the director of WALL*E and Finding Nemo. It’s co-directed by Kenna Harris, produced by Lindsey Collins, and features an original score by Academy Award winner Randy Newman, who returns to score his fifth installment of the franchise.

Toy Story 5 hits theaters nationwide on June 19, 2026.
