Cedric Alexander Says TNA Run Is The Most Freeing Time He’s Had In Years

Cedric Alexander is very happy in his current TNA run, calling it the most freeing time of his career in years. Alexander joined TNA in June of last year and re-upped with the company in January. He has joined The System and letting his heel side out to play.

Alexander spoke about his TNA run in an interview with Know Your Wrestling. He talked about how he’s been able to show a more authentic side of himself and doesn’t have to bump up against things he’s not allowed to do. You can see the highlights below:

On Showing a Different Version Of Himself:

Yeah. I would say a more authentic version of of myself. I felt like before coming to TNA, I was still caught in that bubble of, ‘You can’t do this, you can’t do that.’ You know, there’s so many barriers put on, things you can and can’t do, and XYZ. And TNA is really freeing in that respect. Because if you can imagine it, if it’s something that works for you and you can put it out there? Let’s run with it. And TNA’s been very good with allowing me to just express myself.”

On Whether He Means Character, In-Ring, or Just Expressing Himself:

“All the above, man. It’s all the above. Because before I was — I felt like I was stuck in that, what’s the classic term? That white meat babyface, you know? Like, ‘Come on guys, like me! I’m athletic and stuff.’ And honestly with TNA and now that I’ve joined The System, it helped bring what really I am out. Because I mean, I’m loud. I’m a little cocky at times. It just feels like me, you know what I mean? I don’t like having to have a checklist of all the things I can and cannot do with my character, and with my moveset and stuff. And TNA just lets me just do me. And like, there’s no real restrictions on anything. It’s just a case of, if I feel like this is Cedric Alexander, this is what Cedric Alexander would do in this time, I’m going to do it, you know?”

On Whether Now Is One of the Most Fun Times In His Career:

“So far, man. So far, this is like probably the most freeing time I’ve had in my career in probably the last six years or so.”
