Undisputed WWE Title Match Agreed To For WWE Smackdown In Two Weeks

Gunther will likely get his rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship on WWE Smackdown in two weeks. As noted, the Ring General opened up Friday night’s episode of Smackdown demanding a rematch against Cody Rhodes, arguing that he was cheated out of a win at WWE Clash in Italy.

While Rhodes agreed to the match for this week’s show, that didn’t end up happening after Sami Zayn got involved. Later in the show, Rhodes met with Nick Aldis who asked if he was still down for the rematch. Rhodes said yes, and Aldis said Gunther’s lawyers had a condition for the rematch that would be revealed on next week’s show. Rhodes then countered that he didn’t want to wait for the rematch too long and said that he would defend the title on the June 19th episode of WWE Smackdown.

The match is not officially confirmed, despite both sides tentatively agreeing to the bout. The June 19th episode of WWE Smackdown takes place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri and will air live on USA Network in the US and Netflix internationally.
