The Great Khali has had a number of film roles in his career, and he says his favorite to shoot was The Longest Yard. The WWE Hall of Famer worked on several films before and during his time in WWE, both in the US and in India. Among those roles were Turley in The Longest Yard, Dalip in Get Smart, and Tug Phelps in Macgruber.
Khali spoke with Ken Warren for the latter’s #REALtalk and was asked about his favorite experiences on films that he shot. He named Longest Yard because he was not yet part of WWE and it was a more relaxing experience, where as the Get Smart role was more hectic for him. You can see highlights below:
On Which Was His Favorite Film to Shoot:
“I think my favorite movie is Longest Yard. Because when I’m shooting that movie, so I have six months [of preparation]. Then you know, very nice shoot [in] California. And [it’s] relax, one day shoot, one day off. It’s more fun, you know.”
On Filming Get Smart:
“So when I work [on] Get Smart, my schedule is so hectic. I work with WWE, then finish the show, then fly back here to California. Shoot, then finish in the morning, come back again. So much hectic, the schedule when I work on Get Smart. But you say ‘Which is my favorite?’ My favorite is Longest Yard.”
