Goldberg Says Brock Lesnar Was His Best Opponent, Recalls Working With Haku

Goldberg recently explained why Brock Lesnar was his greatest opponent and recalled having the great Haku as his mentor. The WWE Hall of Famer worked with Lesnar a few times in their WWE runs, most memorably perhaps at WrestleMania 20. Goldberg defeated Lesnar in a match that was turned on by the fans when the two, who were both leaving, stared each other down and talked trash for an extended time before locking up.
The two would compete two more times in better-received matches at Survivor Series 2016 and then WrestleMania 33. Goldberg appeared on Going Ringside and reflected on their rivalry, as well as working with Haku. You can see the highlights below:
On Lesnar Putting Him Over:
“Well yeah. I mean, that’s not his job; that’s not his his decision. It’s none of our decisions. At the end of the day, Brock Lesnar was my best opponent because he was a mirror image of myself, just as a blonde wrestler and you know, I played football.
“And so, the dynamic of having two absolute monsters in the ring together, I was more excited than anyone. Because he was a guy that could take it if I hit him.”
On Working With Haku:
“Meng was an idol of mine, and Meng was one of my biggest mentors. 1,000%, absolutely. How could you not look at a guy like Meng, both in and outside of the ring, and not think that he could be an unbelievable person to follow in their footsteps?”
