If Big E. needed validation that his new career path, talking about mental health, was the right one, he just got it. Big E. has been doing the media circuit to promote his new book, How I Got Over, which deals in depth with his mental health and struggles with depression.
When he appeared on Notsam Wrestling with Sam Roberts, he took the time to mention how another podcast he’d just been on the day before had helped him save somebody.
“I just did the Chris Van Vliet podcast. I did it yesterday,” he said. “Someone DM’d me that they were in a hotel and they were going to commit suicide, and then they listened to the podcast, and they just spent all day, and we went back and forth. We talked for a little bit, but he seems to be in a much better place now. And for me, you like I think about at 40 years old, I’ve been so grateful to have a career that was so much fun.”
He continued, “I had a blast, but like what is it that I want now with my career? How do I want to use performance, writing, art? How do I want to use my platform now? And for me, like, this is it.”
