WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque commented on the in-ring future of Brock Lesnar following his defeat to Oba Femi in the Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam: Minnesota Night One.
As noted, Femi slayed The Beast Incarnate inside the latter’s favorite playground in the main event of SummerSlam 2026 Night One. After the match, Brock hugged Femi and acknowledged himself as the ‘past’ and The Ruler as the ‘future’ of WWE in a passing-of-the-torch moment.
Triple H was asked about Lesnar’s in-ring future at the post-show, and here’s what the WWE CCO said:
“I don’t know. You saw Brock in whatever way he retired a few months ago and then come back and do this. But for Brock to walk back to the ring, to bring Oba back in there with him, to put him over verbally and physically as, ‘This is the future of the business. This is the today. This is the now. This is the future, and I’m the past.’ That’s a pretty bold statement. Brock doesn’t just say things. Without reading into it any more than that, ‘I’m the past,’ is what he said. But you know as well as I do, Brock does what Brock wants. So I would take what he said at face value, and let’s see.”
Triple H also heaped high praise on Brock Lesnar, noting that The Beast doesn’t often get the credit for how good he is. The 14-time World Champion noted that Lesnar has always brought a sense of realism to pro wrestling and is one of the most unique performers in the history of the business.
Meanwhile, Oba reacted to Brock’s post-match gestures during an interview with Jackie Redmond after the show went off the air. You can check his comments HERE.
