Lyra Valkyria Feels ‘Lighter’ After Recent Heel Turn, Wants Title Back

Valkyria made history last year by becoming WWE’s first Women’s Intercontinental Champion, establishing herself as one of Raw’s rising talents before losing the title. After her rivalry with Becky Lynch, she began a partnership with Bayley.

However, she attacked Bayley after the duo failed to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship on RAW. She embraced her heel turn and defeated Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event, completing the transition to a heel.

Speaking with Contralona, Valkyria reflected on her recent changes following her betrayal of Bayley. Lyra stated, “I’m pretty much the same… I feel different. I feel better. I feel lighter. I feel like, you know, I didn’t realize there was this mental cloud the whole time, and now stuff can be good.”

Despite embracing her new persona, Valkyria made it clear that reclaiming the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship remains her top priority. She continued, “I think once I have my championship back, I think then that’s when everything will really feel good, you know? I think that’s the missing piece. I think that’s why.”

The Women’s Intercontinental Championship is currently held by Raquel Rodriguez, who won the title by defeating Sol Ruca.
