Elayna Black recently opened up about the differences between WWE and TNA and TNA’s locker room environment.

Black, who performed as Cora Jade during her four-year stint with WWE earlier this decade, was released from the promotion in early 2025. After spending several months away from the wrestling world, she returned as Elayna Black during TNA iMPACT’s AMC premiere in January 2026.

During a recent conversation with Soundsphere Magazine, Black revealed the major creative difference between the two promotions, noting that things in WWE are more structured and directed, while in TNA, the onus is on the talent to hone their character. She also commented on the TNA locker room, describing it as the greatest locker room she’s ever been a part of.

Here’s what she said:

On differences between WWE and TNA

“A lot of things are more directed and guided… they kind of have an idea for your character, maybe already.” At TNA, “I was like, ‘Oh, I have to do this all myself now.’ It puts more pressure on me to create something great and decide who Elayna Black is now in 2026 and for years to come.”

On the TNA locker room

“Probably the greatest locker room I’ve ever been a part of: close-knit, family-ish, and competitive in the healthiest way. We’re watching the person’s match before us, and we’re like, ‘Damn, that was a really good match, but I’m gonna go out there and be better than you.'”

Elayna Black was in action at the recent Lockdown pay-per-view, where she unsuccessfully challenged Xia Brookside for the Knockouts World Championship in a Steel Cage match.
