Moose Dismisses Notion That Avery Styles Bagged TNA Contract Because He’s AJ Styles’ Son

Moose recently rejected the notion that Avery Styles earned a contract with TNA Wrestling because his father is the legendary AJ Styles.
Avery Styles, who made his pro wrestling debut earlier this summer, officially signed with TNA last month, making his debut appearance for the company at the Lockdown pay-per-view.
Avery is currently aligned with mentor Frankie Kazarian and in Kazarian’s ongoing program with Moose. He has yet to make his in-ring debut for the promotion.
Speaking of Moose, the former TNA World Champion recently appeared on Busted Open After Dark, where he dismissed the notion that Avery Styles was able to sign with TNA because of who his father is. Moose said there’s definite talent in the teenager, and he’s happy to see the latter in TNA. Here’s what he said [h/t to Fightful for the transcript]:
“He’s a bloodline to one of the greatest wrestlers ever so, I know he’s very talented. I’ve seen some of his clips of stuff that he does on the indies and I mean, there’s definitely talent there; there’s a lot of talent there. Obviously, if there wasn’t, TNA wouldn’t have signed him, and I don’t think it’s one of those things that he strictly got signed because he’s A.J. Styles’ son. I think there is talent there, and I’m happy he’s part of our team, and I’m happy he’s part of TNA, and I hope myself and the rest of the guys on the roster could lead him on to the right direction and make him be the best version of himself.”
