Chad Gable to Defend WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE NXT Live Event Tonight

Chad Gable is set to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship at an NXT live event later today. NXT is set to run house shows in Columbia, South Carolina, Greensboro, North Carolina, and Knoxville, Tennessee, over the next three days.

Main roster stars Chad Gable and IYO SKY are being advertised for the first two live events. It has since been revealed that Gable will defend his Intercontinental Championship against NXT’s Saquon Shugars in Columbia, South Carolina, later today.

Last night, Shugars took to social media to hype the upcoming match. He wrote, “Can he hang? 🤔 SS. COLUMBIA, SC📍TOMORROW. Finna blow up. @WWEGable. (1/2) #wwenxt.”

Chad Gable captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Penta in front of his home fans and family in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at last month’s SummerSlam. He has since defended his gold twice on television: against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee.
