Latest On Sheamus Potentially Signing With AEW

There’s been a lot of speculation about Sheamus signing with AEW now that he’s free of WWE, but a new report suggests it might not happen right away. As noted, the former WWE Champion became a free agent at the start of the month. Plenty of people have wondered if the former WWE star will arrive in AEW, but the latest Fightful Select Answers Q&A reports that there doesn’t appear to be a lot of urgency to bring him into the company at the moment.

The report from Sean Ross Sapp makes clear that he doesn’t know whether Sheamus has had direct talks with AEW at this time. That said, he noted that “nothing seems imminent” regarding a potential deal.

As noted, a number of people in AEW have expressed that they would like to see him signed. The Q&A names Claudio Castagnoli and Adam Copeland among those people.
