Queen Aminata on Mercedes Mone: “I Don’t Think People Give Her Enough Credit”

Queen Aminata recently heaped praise on AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone, saying she learned a lot from Mone in their recent match and that she wants to lock horns with The CEO again.

Aminata challenged Mercedes for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the Grand Slam: France earlier this month. Though she didn’t win, the 33-year-old feels she’s become a different wrestler since that outing and wants to mix it up with Mone again. Aminata believes Mercedes Mone doesn’t receive enough credit from fans for how good she is.

Speaking with CMLL Informa, Queen Aminata said [quotes via Fightful]:

“Growing up watching wrestling, I didn’t really have a role model, so I just wanted to make myself my own role model. Now that I’ve faced her in Paris, after that match, something stuck in my head. I want to be as good as this woman is. She is amazing. I don’t think people give her enough credit. I feel like I’m a different wrestler because of that match. It was in France, and I grew up in France. Of course, it’s the one and only Mercedes Mone. I want to do it again. I really want to wrestle her again. She’s amazing!”

Meanwhile, Aminata is set to challenge Persephone for the AEW TBS Championship on tonight’s Dynamite. Check out the full lineup HERE.
