A new report has a bit of an update on the logistical plans for broadcasting WWE Crown Jewel this weekend. As noted, the PLE takes place this Saturday from the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. According to PWInsider Elite (courtesy of Fightful, WWE will be remotely engineering a “major part” of the broaddcast from WWE Headquarters in stamford, Connecticut. Production and satellite trucks will be stationed at the building to facilitate the process.
The report notes that WWE will have a smaller production staff than usual in Saudi Arabia, though PWInsider’;s Mike Johnson noted that a “sizeable” amount of the production crew will be present. It was also noted that cameras, sound and other production equipment will be set up by the crew that is on-site, and then be trasmitted back to WWE Headquarters where they can produce the show remotely as if they were there in person.
While it’s not clear if this is a direct factor, it was reported that several members of the production crew opted against making the trip, despite the offer of $3,000 in “hazard pay” for traveling to Riyadh for the show.
WWE Crown Jewel takes place on November 7th and airs live on ESPN Unlimited in the US, plus Netflix internationally.
