Alexa Grasso Says Winning Her UFC Debut Was a Dream Come True

November 6, 2016 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum (via MMAjunkie), MMA fighter Alexa Grasso spoke about winning her Octagon debut at UFC Fight Night 98 against Heather Jo Clark. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Grasso on her win: “To me, it was a dream come true. From the beginning, when we started training with my trainer, we always focused on doing something like this. And the fact it happened here, it happened in Mexico, it was very emotional. Especially listening to so many people chanting my name over and over again.”

Grasso on wanting bigger names: “Yes, I am definitely ready (for the big names in the division). I think that I just have to be a little more aggressive and train more. But I’m ready.”

Grasso on why she doesn’t talk trash: “I think respect is very important, not just for women fighters, but also for men. I think we have to rescue the true culture and spirit of martial arts. We work very hard and train very hard, we go through all these diets and we all do our best when we are fighting. I think it is very important for all fighters, men and women, to show that respect for each other.”
