The UFC is looking to make some serious reductions in its roster, with Dana White revealing that up to 60 cuts are coming up by the end of 2020. White spoke during the post-event press event for UFC on ESPN 19 and revealed that more than a few releases are on the way.

“We’re going to go through some serious cuts here at the end of the year,” White said (per MMA Weekly). “We’re probably going to have 60 cuts coming up before the first of the year.”

The UFC released veteran middleweight Yoel Romero over the weekend, despite Romero being ranked #5 and having three fights left on his deal. He had lost his last three fights.

White added, “Our roster is very inflated right now. We’re going to have some big cuts coming before the end of the year. You’re going to see a lot of names going here in the next several weeks.” He noted that some big names are likely to be cut as well, saying, “These are the tough decisions that you have to make.”
