Dana White Says Nik Lentz Will Be BJ Penn’s Last UFC Fight
Dana White says that BJ Penn will only get one more fight in the UFC, no matter how it turns out. White spot during the post-UFC 240 press conference (per MMA Weekly) and said that the 40 year-old Penn’s bout with Nik Lentz will be his final one for the company.
“He terrorized me for friggen a week and wouldn’t stop texting me for three days straight and talked me into it,” White said. “We have a deal now: win, lose, or draw this is BJ Penn’s last fight. I won’t give him another fight. It’s very clear between us now that there won’t be another fight no matter what.”
White also noted that Penn has agreed to the stipulation in order to get the fight, which doesn’t yet have a date announced yet. “He’s promised me that win, lose or draw, he will retire after this fight. We’ll see if he keeps his promise. He won’t fight here though, that I can guarantee you,” White declared. “We won’t be sitting here doing this again, that I promise you.”
