Ian McCall Suffers Illness, Out Of UFC 208

February 11, 2017 | Posted by Joseph Lee

Champions.co reports that Ian McCall (13-5-1 MMA, 2-3-1 UFC) has been hospitalized for gastrointestinal issues and will not compete against Jarred Brooks (12-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) tonight.

UFC said in a statement: “McCall was transported to a local hospital with gastrointestinal issues and was pulled from the card on the doctor’s recommendation.

The two were set to open the FOX Sports 1 preliminary card at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The main card airs on PPV. This is the fourth time McCall was pulled from a fight during fight week. He was set to return from injury in July 2016 at UFC 201, then UFC 205, but a botched weight cut from Justin Scoggins and Ray Borg’s illness cancelled those respective fights. His fight with Neil Seery at UFC Fight Night 99 was likewise pulled and McCall was removed from the card. McCall and Seery were set to fight tonight before Seery suffered a death in the family. Brooks was added as a last-minute replacement. He wrote on Twitter:

The featherweight bout between Rick Glenn (18-4-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) and Phillipe Nover (11-7-1 MMA, 1-5 UFC) has been moved to the FOX Sports 1 preliminary card. The fight card is currently underway. It includes:
