Hello everyone and welcome to 411mania’s LIVE coverage of UFC on ESPN+ 100, I’m Robert Winfree and I’ll be your host. Let me start with a disclaimer for everyone reading live, I have a prior commitment today that might preclude me from covering the first few fights live. I will be sure to include the results when I’m here and after the fact I’ll go back and put in my usual round by round recap, but live I might miss the first few fights. I appreciate your understanding and patience with this.

UFC on ESPN+ 100 is coming off of an off week for the UFC but they’ve brought a pretty solid main event. Gilbert Burns has challenged for the welterweight title before and later in his career has developed a reputation as kind of an action her. Across the cage from him will be Sean Brady, a rising force in the division who suffered a setback against Belal Muhammad not too long ago but did score an impressive rebound win his last time out. While the winner here isn’t likely to be next in line for the title since both men have lost to Belal Muhammad, they will definitely be in the title picture. The co-main event is one of those bouts to determine direction for both fighters, Jessica Andrade has been around for a long time and has had a lot of success, but the mileage could be catching up to her while Natalia Silva has been on a bit of a tear lately and could launch herself into the title scene with a win over a former champion. Beyond that this card is pretty weak, Trevor Peek is usually at least entertaining, Isaac Dulgarian is trying to start making waves, and Steve Garcia vs. Kyle Nelson has some moderate potential. Mostly we’re hoping for good action despite a card that’s not exactly jumping off the page at you.

UFC on ESPN+ 100 comes to the world from the warehouse, the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Brendan Fitzgerald, Michael Bisping, and Dominick Cruz will be on the call tonight. Remember that we’re in the smaller 25 foot cage here. We’re not quite to the new rules potentially being in play, at the moment I believe the first bout confirmed to be under those rules will be in Edmonton in November but should another relevant commission sanction them I’ll try to keep you updated.

Nathan Fletcher defeated Zygimantas Ramaska via Submission, arm triangle choke, at 1:14 of Round 2

Andre Petroski just broke a two fight losing streak a few couple of months back and now looks to build his first winning streak since 2023. Dylan Budka dropped his UFC debut earlier this year and then missed weight for this fight, he needs a win to try and smooth that over because a loss in addition to a weight miss can portend the end of your UFC run. With the weight miss it’s not surprising to see Petroski as the -310 favorite to +250 on Budka.

Middleweight Bout: Dylan Budka (7-3, 188.5 lbs.)* vs. Andre Petroski (11-3, 185.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while Budka has two inches of reach advantage, and Petroski is 9 years older plus Budka missed weight. Both men open southpaw but Budka is doing a lot of stance switching while circling. A lot of forward pressure from Petroski and he nearly eats a knee. Bit of a right hook from Petroski. Body kick from Petroski. Petroski hits a takedown into half guard against the fence. Budka is just wrapping the head of Petroski, Petroski is sort of working to pass and finally lands a few punches. Petroski does pass to mount and gets a gift wrap grip just as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Petroski

ROUND TWO: Budka lands a right hook. Both men miss punches, Budka is still generally circling and luring in Petroski. Petroski avoids an uppercut then tries a double leg that hits the fence and stalls out. Jab from Petroski. Budka lands a jab. Petroski hits a double leg against the fence and moves quickly to half guard. A fence grab from Petroski to help retain control, I’d have taken the position away personally but I’m not the ref. Petroski is able to land a few short elbows as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Petroski, 20-18 Petroski overall

ROUND THREE: Petroski gets back on pressure. Budka lands a couple of punches. Petroski blocks a high kick. Bit of a left from Petroski then a leg kick. Budka misses a few punches then eats a right hook. Double leg from Petroski hits the fence but he’s able to finish it and get on top in full guard. Petroski passes to half guard. Budka avoids an arm triangle attack and is holding Petroski’s head again. Petroski passes to full mount with 50 seconds left in the round. Petroski wont find much offense but he’ll hold the position as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Petroski, 30-27 Petroski overall

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Andre Petroski via unanimous decision (30-27 x3)

Mic time for Petroski, he’s disappointed in his performance and feels he missed opportunities to get mount earlier. He sucks up to the UFC for a bit then supports his team mate Sean Brady in the main event.

Jacqueline Amorim has gone 2-1 in the UFC but she’s on a two fight winning streak and a third win in a row tonight could get her a look at bigger names going forward. Vanessa Dmopoulos has gone 4-1 in her last five fights and is on a two fight winning streak, she’s had a few shots a bigger names in the past and another win here could see her take aim at ranked opposition. Amorim is a rather heavy favorite at -280 while that +225 comeback on Demopoulos is a tempting little value bet.

Strawweight Bout: Jaqueline Amorim (8-1, 115.5 lbs.) vs. Vanessa Demopoulos (11-5, 116 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Amorim is an inch taller with a large nine and a half inches of reach advantage. They both feint a bit then Amorim hits a takedown into north-south. Amorim moves to side control and is working towards knee on belly. 3/4 mount for Amorim and she lands a few punches. Demopoulos is able to get half guard, she tries a hip bump but winds up just giving up her back as Amorim scrambles around to get it. Body triangle for Amorim, then she transitions to an armbar and gets the tap.

The First Round Finish Club thanks Ms. Amorim for her work this afternoon. Demopoulos was complaining about some glove grabbing and is unhappy. Mic time for Amorim she puts over Demopoulos as a good opponent and talks about working hard to get finishes. She wants to fight again before the end of the year.

Yizha failed to win his way into the UFC last year on the Road to UFC event, but after losing a split decision to Jeong Yeong Lee he immediately got into another Road to UFC season which concluded in February. Now Yizha is looking to maximize his second bout under the UFC banner and extend his three fight winning streak. Gabriel Santos has gone 0-2 in the UFC most recently being on the wrong end of a knockout of the year contender a little over a year ago, he’s back in action here though and looking for that first UFC win. The odds are solidly with Santos at -260 while Yizha at +210 might tempt a few bettors out there.

Featherweight Bout: Gabriel Santos (10-2, 146 lbs.) vs. Yi Zha (25-4, 144.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Santos is two inches taller while Yizha has an inch of reach advantage. They touch gloves to get us going, both men fighting southpaw. Santos lands a right hook. Leg kick from Yizha. Yizha trips up Santos but Santos bounces up and lands a left hand. A jab from Santos off balances Yizha for a second. They’re both doing a bit of stance switching now, Yizha seems to prefer closed stance. Right hand from Yizha but Santos counters with a left hook. Yizha seems to hurt his foot on a kick then Santos lands a right hand. They trade rights. Front kick from Santos pushes Yizha over for a second. Right hand from Yizha. Calf kick from Santos. A few jabs go back and forth. Santos with a front kick to the face that drops Yizha, Santos on top landing punches but Yizha fights up to his feet and backs Santos off with a few punches. Yizha lands a front kick. Front kick from Santos, Yizha’s left leg is a little messed up and Santos is starting to roll now. Yizha avoids a flying knee as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Santos but could be 10-8 if you’re feeling generous

ROUND TWO: Santos is back on pressure and lands a front kick. Yizha tries a takedown but Santos defends and they trade punches. Another front kick to the face from Santos lands but Yizha just eats this one and fires back with punches. Left from Yizha then Santos lands a right hand. Yizha forces a clinch but gets put on the fence pretty quickly. Santos breaks but eats a left hand on the way out. They trade punches then Santos hits a takedown into full guard. Yizha works to get his guard in play and sneaks in a few elbows. Santos lands some punches as he stands over Yizha and works to pass. Santos moves to half guard and lands an elbow that cuts Yizha on the forehead. Yizha scrambles up with Santos on his back in the clinch. They get chest to chest then separate. The ref wants the doctor to check on Yizha’s cut, there’s no issue with that one so we’re back to fighting almost immediately. Spinning back kick from Yizha. Santos lands a left hook then tries a front kick but that goes low but Yizha waves the ref off and tries a takedown but Santos defends. One two from Yizha. Spinning elbow partially lands for Yizha, that’ll basically be the end of the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Santos, 20-18 Santos overall

ROUND THREE: Santos lands a leg kick, Yizha is trying to incite a brawl but Santos isn’t obliging him. Santos avoids a double leg, Yizha reshoots but still can’t finish it. A couple of lefts from Yizha land then Santos hits a double leg into full guard. A few punches from Santos then he moves to the ride position as Yizha gets to his knees against the fence. Body triangle for Santos now and he pulls Yizha back to the mat. Santos starts fishing for the choke and lands a few blows to the body to try and open it up. A few elbows to the shoulder blade from Santos, that’s just mean. Yizha is really struggling to address the position, he’s throwing punches then bases up but Santos keeps the backpack position and tries another choke as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Santos, 30-27 Santos overall

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Gabriel Santos via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26 x2)

No issues with a 10-8 for Santos in there. Mic time for Santos and the translator, he gives glory to God and then expresses love for his family and his wife who’s carrying their child. He talks about not quite being able to finish but puts over his Chute Boxe team.

Felipe dos Santos has gone 1-1 in the UFC but he is coming off of a win and now looks for his first UFC winning streak. Andre Lima is undefeated including two wins in the UFC, if he can get to three wins in a row here it could earn him a shot at a more recognizable name in the division. Fairly close one here, -170 on Lima while a dos Santos win would payout at +140.

Flyweight Bout: Felipe dos Santos (8-1 1 NC, 124.5 lbs.) vs. Andre Lima (9-0, 125.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while dos Santos has two and a half inches of reach advantage. They touch gloves to get things going. A bit of stance switching early from Lima as he works forward on dos Santos. Bit of a one two from dos Santos. Dos Santos lands a calf kick. Lima with a calf kick. Left hand from Lima, he seems to like southpaw at the moment. There’s an eye poke to Lima so we’ve got a time out, only lasts 38 seconds then we’re back to fighting. Lima avoids a few kicks then dos Santos lands a body kick. Dos Santos is throwing nice kicks but Lima is avoiding a lot of them and they wind up clinched. Not much comes of that and they separate. Lima keeps pressuring forward and lands a left hand. Dos Santos blocks a high kick then Lima avoids his counter head kick. Lima continues with pressure, he blocks a spinning kick. Dos Santos avoids a punch and hits a mat return but winds up just on the back in the clinch. Lima got away with a fence grab there. Dos Santos eventually hits a mat return but tries to jump for the back and Lima shakes him over the top then gets on top in half guard. A few punches from Lima land as dos Santos wall walks into a clinch. Some knees from Lima then dos Santos lands a spinning elbow and they trade to close the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 dos Santos but a close one

ROUND TWO: Both men come out punching but Lima’s pressure is still evident. Body shot from Lima. Dos Santos with a front kick then a couple of punches into a clinch. Lima with some body blows then they trade knees in the clinch before breaking. Right hand from Lima. Dos Santos tries a takedown but Lima counters into a trip and gets on top in half guard. Lima passes to full mount and starts setting up an arm triangle attack. Dos Santos is able to avoid the arm triangle attack but Lima keeps after it and lands a couple of short punches. Lima is trying to be methodical, maybe a little too restrained as time is still running. The round will end as Lima postures up and lands a couple of punches but nothing too damaging.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Lima, 19-19 overall

ROUND THREE: Lima gets back to forward pressure right away. There’s a brief time out, not sure what happened but maybe a clash of heads, it doesn’t last long then we’re back to fighting after 34 seconds. Head kicks are blocked by both men. Lima eats a punch then gets a clinch on the fence. Takedown from Lima, he gets to the ride position and forces dos Santos to the mat then fully gets the back with a body triangle. Some punches from Lima as he’s trying to open up a choke attack. Eventually Lima gets under the chin, dos Santos is hand fighting though and does break the grip of the choke. Lima attacks the choke again but again dos Santos’s hand fighting is impressive and he survives. Dos Santos is really struggling to actually address the position, his hand fighting is good but he can’t get out of this body triangle. Lima makes one last attempt at the choke but wont find it as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Lima, 29-28 Lima overall

Decent little fight there. Lima and the translator get an interview, he says he followed the game plan and talks about needing to show off his ground game and overall well roundness as a fighter.

Isaac Dulgarian has gone 1-1 in the UFC most recently dropping a close split decision, he’s hoping to avoid his first losing streak here. Brendon Marotte lost his UFC debut almost a year ago but he’s back in action here and hoping a move to featherweight will put some life into his UFC run. Dulgarian is the biggest favorite on the card and possibly in all of UFC history at a prohibitive -2400 against +1200 for Marotte.

Featherweight Bout: Isaac Dulgarian (6-1, 145.5 lbs.) vs. Brendon Marotte (8-2, 145 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Marotte is two inches taller but Dulgarian has an inch of reach advantage. They touch gloves then Dulgarian lands punches then hits a takedown. Dulgarian moves to half guard and threatens mount then gets full mount. Punches from Dulgarian and he gets the back as he’s riding Marotte. Some punches from Dulgarian as he moves between mount and back mount. Dulgarian lands some rights as he’s got Marotte’s right arm tied up with wrist control. Dulgarian grabs an arm triangle choke and switches to side control but Marotte is able to bridge and twist to break it but Dulgarian gets back to mount and lands punches. Elbows now from Dulgarian. Marotte throws a few elbows form his back. Dulgarian with more punches. Marotte is able to hip escape and get full guard. Dulgarian with some body to head punches as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-8 Dulgarian

ROUND TWO: Quick takedown from Dulgarian to start the second round and he lands in half guard. Marotte shrimps to full guard and Dulgarian keeps landing some punches. Marotte has fired a few elbows form his back and Dulgarian is now dealing with a cut. Dulgarian lands some more body to head punches as he’s working to stack up Marotte and open up strikes. Dulgarian moves to half guard and starts fishing for an arm triangle. Full mount now for Dulgarian and he lands an elbow. Dulgarian starts moving between mount and back mount again while still going for the arm triangle choke. Might be a switch to the Godzilla choke for Dulgarian and that adjustment gets the tap.

Mic time for Dulgarian, he thanks his family for their support. He talks us through the finish and is looking forward to his next fight.

You can see the slight adjustment Dulgarian makes here, instead of pushing his head down and angling off to the side he leverages down into the choke to compress things. I’m not sure if this variation is called a Godzilla or a Kaiju but it’s slightly different than the traditional arm triangle.

Rongzhu went 1-2 in the UFC from 2021 to 2022, but since then he’s gone 4-0 including three wins on a Road to UFC season and now hopes to reintroduce himself to the UFC audience with a win. Chris Padilla is on a four fight winning streak including his UFC debut back in April and he’s looking to continue that success here. The odds like Rongzhu at -245 to +200 on Padilla.

Lightweight Bout: Chris Padilla (14-6, 154 lbs.) vs. Rong Zhu (25-5, 155.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while Padilla has an inch and a half of reach advantage. Pressure from Rongzhu right away as he backs Padilla up. They clash on leg kicks then Rongzhu lands a calf kick. Padilla lands a calf kick of his own. Rongzhu has a couple of punches blocked then lands a calf kick. Some stance switching from Rongzhu now as he’s looking for an angle. Bit of a right from Rongzhu. Body kicks go back and forth. Rongzhu lands a right hand in close. Calf kick from Rongzhu then they trade rights. Jab from Padilla and he avoids a counter. Rongzhu lands a calf kick. Padilla lands a calf kick. Rongzhu has a blitz blocked. We get a brief time out for a low blow but Rongzhu waves that off. Calf kick from Rongzhu. They trade calf kicks then Rongzhu fires a combination that’s partially successful. Padilla’s guard is high and Rongzhu is starting to hit the body a bit. They trade calf kicks then Padilla lands a right hand. Rongzhu misses a jab to close the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Padilla but could go either way

ROUND TWO: Both men pick up where they left off. Rongzhu lands a calf kick that drops Padilla but he bounces up and Rongzhu lands a couple of body shots then Padilla lands a knee before they reset. Another calf kick from Rongzhu. Padilla lands a right hand. Rongzhu with a calf kick then they both miss punches. Padilla misses a leg kick. Rongzhu keeps up the forward pressure and misses a couple of left hooks. Elbow from Padilla bothers Rongzhu, more elbows from Padilla then Rongzhu fires back with punches. That left eye of Rongzhu is messed up from that elbow. They clinch up and hit the fence, Padilla is working elbows before they break. The ref pauses the fight to get the doctor to check Rongzhu’s eye. It’s completely swollen closed and they have to wave it off.

Padilla must have been watching the 4oz. Muay Thai from One Championship last night. Mic time for Padilla, he watched a lot of tape and says he watched Superlek do this to Haggerty last night and he was drilling that. He puts himself over as a prospect then says he’d like to fight Mahashate next. Reasonable call out.

Trevor Peek has traded wins and losses while going 2-2 in the UFC, he’s coming off of a loss though and is trying to avoid his first ever losing streak. Yanal Ashmouz has gone 1-1 in the UFC and is coming off of a loss where he went the distance despite a visible injury, he’s trying to avoid his first losing streak as well while pulling his UFC record above the .500 mark. Close one here but the odds tilt towards Peek at -125 against +105 on Ashmouz.

Lightweight Bout: Yanal Ashmouz (7-1, 154.5 lbs.) vs. Trevor Peek (9-2 1 NC, 155 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while Peek has an inch of reach advantage. They touch gloves to get us going. Some range finding from both men. Peek gets warned about extending his fingers, which he is doing a lot already. Right hand from Ashmouz. Peek pushes forward showing the jab then misses a kick. Inside leg kick from Peek. Double jab from Ashmouz. Ashmouz starts moving forward and lands a right hand. Peek with a right to the body. Ashmouz misses a high kick. Peek misses a combination. Ashmouz ducks a punch and hits a double leg into side control. Peek is able to shrimp to get half guard but he’s still stuck under Ashmouz. Ashmouz with some body blows and he’s setting up an arm triangle attack going for control. Peek is able to wrestle up into a clinch and Ashmouz lands a knee to the head before they break. Body kick from Peek. Ashmouz avoids some jabs but then can’t find a knee tap and they trade knees in the clinch. Ashmouz with a duck behind to get to the hip in the clinch and they’ll end the round with him landing a knee.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Ashmouz

ROUND TWO: Peek begins moving forward this round but misses a punch. Ashmouz avoids a few punches. Bit of a high kick from Ashmouz then an inside leg kick. Peek fires a few punches, partially successful. Ashmouz misses a few hooks then Peek lands a punch. They trade in close along the fence. Right to the body from Peek then Ashmouz lands a body kick. Ashmouz ducks under a punch and gets the back of Peek then hits a mat return. Punches from the ride for Ashmouz then Peek scrambles up against the fence. Ashmouz begins working trips and mat returns from the back. Peek gets taken down but bounces up into the clinch again. Ashmouz is sneaking in knees now then pulls Peek back down and resumes putting him through the washing machine from the back. Peek looks for his own takedown but Ashmouz wrestles up on a single leg into a clinch on the fence. More knees from Ashmouz. Peek with body shots then Ashmouz with more knees. Ashmouz with some lefts to the head as he’s got Peek on the fence then he hits a single leg and gets into the ride position again. Peek wall walks into another clinch and Ashmouz hits a mat return then some punches before the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Ashmouz, 20-18 Ashmouz overall

ROUND THREE: Both men come out and swing punches. They both block high kicks. Bit of a one two from Ashmouz. Peek lands a right hand. Calf kick from Ashmouz. Peek misses a few punches. Bit of a right from Ashmouz. Knee from Ashmouz then Peek with a right to the body. Peek swings a few punches that miss, then he sprawls away from Ashmouz. Ashmouz forces a clinch on the fence and starts looking for a high crotch lift. Ashmouz is able to slip behind Peek and lands some knees to the thigh and body. Peek gets pulled down to his knees but stands, he’s after a kimura roll but loses it as they hit the mat and Ashmouz is on top. Ashmouz with punches as Peek stands into a clinch. A few knees from Ashmouz before Peek spins free. Both men land lefts, we get a bit of a brawl now before they tie up. Ashmouz with a knee to the body and he gets Peek on the fence. Single leg from Ashmouz, Peek stands up but Ashmouz is on his back now. Knees to the leg from Ashmouz. Ashmouz with a knee to the head as Peek gets chest to chest. Body lock takedown for Ashmouz, he’s in side control and lands punches. Peek fights up to his feet as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Ashmouz, 30-27 Ashmouz overall

Peek getting the first isn’t out of line. Mic time for Ashmouz, he mentions being out for about a year and really had to be ready for the aggression of Peek.

Matt Schnell has gone 1-3 in his last four fights and is on a two fight losing streak and has been knocked out in both of those losses, he’s trying to halt that skid and prove he’s still a deserving member of the roster. Cody Durden has gone 4-2 in his last six fights but he’s on a two fight losing streak, which is somewhat mitigated by those losses coming to Tagir Ulanbekov and Burno da Silva. Now Durden is moving up to bantamweight for the first time since 2020 when he got a draw in his UFC debut and is hoping that move will revitalize his time with the UFC. The odds like Durden rather heavily at -290 to +235 on Schnell.

Bantamweight Bout: Cody Durden (16-6-1, 135 lbs.) vs. Matt Schnell (16-8 1 NC, 135 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Schnell is an inch taller with three inches of reach advantage. Both men are normally flyweights but this fight came together quickly so we’re at bantamweight. Both men come out and Schnell starts landing punches. Right hand from Durden but Schnell lands a counter punch. Schnell’s hand speed is decent but importantly he’s throwing combinations while Durden is more one and done. Durden pushes forward with punches against the fence. Both men are landing punches here before they reset. They trade rights. Durden with a flurry of clubbing punches, Schnell fires back with hooks in close. Schnell with a calf kick. Right hand from Durden. Another right from Durden lands. They both miss punches then Durden lands a right hand. Schnell starts showing the left hook and backing Durden up. Calf kick from Schnell. Durden pressures forward and lands a left hook. Schnell lands a right hand in close, both men are leaking a little blood from the face. They trade left hooks. One two from Durden then Schnell lands a right hand, one more flurry from Durden closes out the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Durden but a close one

ROUND TWO: Durden pressures forward then sprawls away from a double leg, he grabs a ninja choke then Schnell tries to roll through the pressure but Durden stays with him and forces the tap.

That was erroneously announced as an anaconda choke, it was a ninja choke as there was no arm in the choke. Mic time for Durden who talks about taking this fight on four days notice then dedicates the win to the kids who survived a school shooting in his coaches home town. He expresses gratitude to the UFC for the fight, he then admits to being rocked a bit by one of Schnell’s hooks and puts him over.

Schnell left his gloves in the cage and appears to have retired.

Steve Garcia is on a four fight winning streak since returning to featherweight in 2022 and all of those wins have come via some kind of stoppage, he’s trying to extend that streak here which could earn him a crack at ranked opponents. Kyle Nelson missed weight for this fight, never a good thing, but he’s not lost in his last four fights and a win here could signal that he’s ready to take a step up in class. Garcia is your favorite at -185 to +155 for Nelson.

Featherweight Bout: Steve Garcia (16-5, 145.5 lbs.) vs. Kyle Nelson (16-5-1, 148.5 lbs.)*

ROUND ONE: Garcia is an inch taller with four inches of reach advantage, plus Nelson missed weight. Southpaw for Garcia. Bit of a high kick from Garcia, Nelson trips him up and gets into the ride position against the fence. Nelson now gets the back with both hooks in. Not much going on here, Nelson has good control but isn’t mounting a lot of offense. Garcia is able to spin into Nelson, Nelson tries an armbar but Garcia punches his way through that and starts unloading from top position. Half guard for Nelson as he’s trying to avoid damage, Garcia is able to drop a few short elbows. Some hammer fists from Garcia then a flurry of punches and hammer fists follow. Nelson is able to roll around and Garcia stands over him then passes to a ride position. Garcia with more punches as Nelson is sitting on the fence. An elbow from Garcia slumps Nelson and a few more punches prompt the stoppage.

The First Round Finish Club thanks Mr. Garcia for his work this evening. Mic time for Garcia, he talks about praying for moments like these as a child and thanks God then expresses love for his wife. Jessica Andrade is a former strawweight champion and challenged for the flyweight title as well. She’s been with the UFC since 2013 though and the miles have been catching up to her just a bit, she’s 2-3 in her last five fights but has won her last two and she’s trying to defend her top ranking here. Natalia Silva is on an 11 fight winning streak including being 5-0 in the UFC, a win here would be the biggest of Silva’s career and would put her in the title picture. It’s not surprising to see Silva as the favorite, but -280 is a little on the heavy side so that +255 payout on Andrade might get some places in trouble.

Women’s Flyweight Bout: #6 Jessica Andrade (26-12, 124.5 lbs.) vs. #8 Natalia Silva (17-5-1, 125.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Silva is two and a half inches taller with three inches of reach advantage. Andrade pushes forward early and both women land punches. Bit of a calf kick from Silva. Silva with a one two. Andrade bulls forward and lands a couple of hooks. Calf kick from Silva. Both women miss punches, Andrade’s pressure is building but Silva is sniping at her. Andrade blocks a high kick. They trade hooks in close. Spinning back kick from Silva. Bit of a one two from Silva then Andrade lands a right hand. They trade punches then Silva knocks Andrade over with a side kick and they reset. Again they trade in close, Silva’s accuracy is making the difference so far. Andrade lands a punch in close. Another counter right from Silva lands. Andrade lands a right in close but eats a knee. Front kick from Silva. Leg kick then a left hand from Andrade. Silva eats a right hand then lands a right hand to close the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Silva but a close one

ROUND TWO: Andrade is back to moving forward and Silva jabs the body and head. Spinning back kick from Silva. Right hand from Silva then she misses a spinning kick. Andrade bulls forward with hooks then tries a takedown but that stalls on the fence. Knees from Silva as she spins free. More body jabs from Silva as she circles. Bit of a knee from Silva after Andrade landed a right to the body. Andrade bulls into a clinch and looks for a takedown but Silva stays upright. Silva spins free and resets. Body jab from Silva then another spinning kick partially lands. They trade punches then Andrade forces a clinch on the fence. Silva spins free and they reset. Left hook from Silva stuns Andrade, she follows up with a few kicks as Andrade fights to get the vision back in her right eye. Andrade seems more able to fight now and lands a couple of punches. Left to the body from Silva then Andrade lands a punch. Side kick from Silva again but Andrade just tanks her way through it. They clinch then Andrade lands a right hand as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Silva, 20-18 Silva overall

ROUND THREE: Andrade moves forward right away. Silva back to jabbing then lands a one two and a high kick. One two from Silva, she’s landing but Andrade is just eating them. Andrade forces a clinch on the fence. Silva is able to spin free and lands a wheel kick. Jab from Silva. They clinch up and hit the fence, but Andrade can’t control the clinch and Silva gets free. They both miss left hooks. Silva avoids a left hook and lands a punch then Andrade clinches up. Silva drags Andrade down to the mat and they wrestle back up into another clinch. Knee from Silva then an elbow as they break. Silva keeps circling and sniping. Andrade lands a cracking left hook and they clinch. Silva spins free and lands a one two. Left hook from Silva. They both miss punches. Spinning back kick from Silva lands. Andrade still bulls forward and eats a left hand but then they just hug as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Silva, 30-27 Silva overall

Heck of a matador performance from Silva there. Mic time for Silva and the translator, she’s emotional and says the fight was very important then says Christ can help you no matter what you’re going through. She talks about losing her sister a few months ago and gives a message about overcoming the world of drugs. She was ready for the pressure from Andrade and then wants a title shot. Seems a little unlikely but one more win will probably get her there.

Gilbert Burns has gone 2-3 in his last five fights most recently being on a two fight losing streak dropping a decision to Belal Muhammad then getting stopped late in the third round by Jack Della Maddalena, Burns is trying to halt that slide and prove he’s still a title level fighter. Sean Brady tapped out Kelvin Gastelum his last time out and while his only professional loss is to Belal Muhammad he might be in position to start rematch talk if he can get by Burns in impressive fashion. Brady is favored to win at -190 while a Burns win would payout at +160.

Welterweight Bout: #6 Gilbert Burns (22-7, 171 lbs.) vs. #8 Sean Brady (16-1, 171 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while Brady has an inch of reach advantage. They touch gloves to get us going. Both men probe with the jab for a bit. Inside leg kick from Brady. Bit of a right from Burns then Brady lands a left hook. Calf kick from Brady. Brady lands a left uppercut. Burns with a left hand. Double leg from Burns, Brady quickly bounces up into a clinch on the fence. They jockey for position in the clinch then Burns spins free. Brady with a blitz into a clinch on the fence. Burns with a knee, Brady lands a short elbow. A few knees go back and forth then Burns spins Brady into the fence and lands a knee. Brady with an outside trip but Burns hops up and punches into a clinch then lands a knee and gets free. Brady lands a right hand then clinches. Takedown from Brady but Burns wall walks right away into a clinch. Burns spins to get chest to chest and puts Brady on the fence then lands a knee before the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Brady

ROUND TWO: Burns eats a body kick then lands a right hand that wobbles Brady, and Brady grabs a clinch. They trade some knees in the clinch, Brady wants a takedown but Burns is able to stay upright. Burns gets Brady on the fence then they break apart. Left hook from Brady lands. Burns blocks a few punches. Glancing right from Burns then he clinches up. Elbow from Burns then they break. Another clinch but Burns is working well in there now. Burns spins Brady into the fence then they break, Brady hits a single leg but Burns immediately wrestles up on a single leg and gets Brady down only for Brady to bounce up into a clinch with Burns on his back. They break then Brady with a jab. Right hand from Brady. Short right from Brady. Bit of a right from Burns. They circle away the final few seconds.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Burns but Brady might have stolen it back at the end of the round, 19-19 overall

ROUND THREE: Both men probe with the jab again. Burns pushes into a clinch that hits the fence. They fight for position on the fence, Brady lands a knee while keeping Burns on the cage. Knee from Burns and an elbow from Brady. Brady is smothering Burns thus far in this round. Burns with a sneaky switch off the fence then lands a knee as they break. Bit of an uppercut from Burns. Right hand from Burns. Brady keeps coming forward and gets a clinch on the fence. They fight for position for a bit then break. Brady on a double leg, Burns defends against the fence though. They break then trade jabs. Elbow from Burns in close then a barrage of elbows and a knee as well before Brady gets out of a clinch. Jab from Burns. Burns with a double leg, Brady gets up but eats a right hand. Brady quickly tries a takedown and hits a high crotch lift into full guard. There’s not much time and they’ll just trade some small blows on the mat to end the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Burns but another close one, 29-28 Burns overall

ROUND FOUR: We get a quick time out this round as Burns took a low blow. Replay confirms the groin kick. Burns takes 1:03 then we’re back to fighting. Brady then immediately runs into a groin kick so we’ve got another time out. Replay confirms the groin kick and the ref warns both men to keep it clean then we’re back to fighting after a minute. Brady with an inside leg kick. Burns misses a couple of kicks. Body kick from Brady then a left hand. Leg kick from Brady. Right hand from Burns. They trade rights. Brady with some jabs as he moves around, then he punches into a clinch. Brady is after a takedown but Burns defends. Knee from Burns then another one and a right hand but Brady pushes back into the clinch. Burns is able to spin free and reset. Double leg from Brady against the fence and he’s on top in butterfly guard. Burns fights up to his feet but Brady trips him back down, then Burns inverts for a leg and uses that to scramble and Burns gets the back of Brady in the clinch. Switch from Brady but Burns wrestles through it and keeps the position. Mat return from Burns but Brady bounces up and gets chest to chest. They end the round in the clinch.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Brady, 38-38 overall

ROUND FIVE: They touch gloves for the final round. Bit of a blitz from Brady. Leg kick from Brady. Brady avoids a right hand. Short elbow from Brady. One two from Brady. Burns lands a right hand. Brady complains of a groin kick and we’ve got a time out. Replay shows that Burns was throwing a knee to the chest and his foot touched the groin. Brady takes 50 seconds then we’re back to fighting. Brady with a flurry of punches. A couple of inside leg kicks from Brady land. Double jab then a right from Brady. Burns lands a calf kick then a flying knee but Brady just eats it and gets a clinch on the fence. Burns is able to spin free and misses a right hand. Brady with another one two into a clinch then hits a single leg into full guard. Burns uses his guard to escape to his feet, Brady is on him in the clinch though. Mat return from Brady into side control. Burns shrimps to half guard then inverts for a leg but can’t catch it and has settle for retaining half guard. Brady is able to land a couple of punches. Burns fights up but gets mat returned as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Brady, 48-47 Brady overall

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Sean Brady via unanimous decision (49-46, 50-45 x2)

Brady gets an interview, he puts over Burns and says he’s been motivated his wife being pregnant and gives love to his family and team. He again puts over Burns and feels he did good work on the feet this time then expects to be ranked ahead of Ian Garry. Askes specifically about the future he wants a top five opponent or Ian Garry if not that.
