Hello everyone and welcome to 411mania’s LIVE coverage of UFC on ESPN+ 120, I’m Robert Winfree and I’ll be your host for the event. The UFC is back in Vancouver for the first time since 2023 and they brought a pretty decent little fight night card. The main event did take a hit as the original main event of Reiner de Ridder vs. Anthony Hernandez fell apart with a Hernandez injury, but Brendan Allen is a solid replacement opponent and it’s still a very relevant middleweight bout. The co-main event sees Canadian Mike Malott look to take a step up in class against veteran Kevin Holland. We’ve also got Aiemann Zahabi taking on Marlon Vera and Manon Fiorot against Jasmine Jasudavicius. Elsewhere we’ve got Davey Grant and he’s good for a fight, plus HyunSung Park taking on Bruno Silva, Drew Dober in action, and a solid middleweight prospect in Azamat Bekoev taking on Yousri Belgaroui. There’s still a few duds on the card but all in all it’s a solid fight night. Now let’s hope the action lives up to the promise it has on paper.

UFC on ESPN+ 120 comes to the world from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Brendan Fitzgerald, Daniel Cormier, and Paul Felder will be providing commentary while Megan Olivi does the roving reporter bit and Joe Martinez handles the in cage announcing. We should have the new rules in play but I’ll update this if that proves to be incorrect.

Melissa Croden brings a two fight winning streak into her UFC debut, now she’s trying to make a good first impression in her native Canada. Tainara Lisboa has gone 2-1 in the UFC but she’s coming off of a loss and now looks to avoid her first losing streak. The odds lean slightly towards Croden at -130 to +110 on Lisboa.

Aoriqileng is coming off of a loss and hasn’t won since 2023, he needs to get back on the winning side of things here to prove he’s still worth keeping around. Kyle Prepolec has gone 0-3 in the UFC across two stints with the promotion, most recently he lost to Benoit Saint-Denis on short notice and now is trying again to get that critical first win in the UFC. Drew Dober has been with the UFC since 2013 and has done fairly well for himself during that time, but he’s currently on a three fight losing streak and really needs to get back on the winning side of things here to prove he’s still got something to offer the promotion. Not sure which round went to Frevola. Mic time for Nelson, he sends love to his family and dedicates the win to his kids. He says 50/50 custody for kids should be standard, then jokes about using all of his gas at the end of the first for a stoppage that he thought he got. He says lightweight feels better than featherweight and likes fighting here. To close he plays with the crowd.

The commentary team get to pay tribute to Duke Rufus, Felder was a longtime student of his and gets visibly emotional talking about him.

Aiemann Zahabi is on a six fight winning streak, he’s been fairly selective about his UFC fights as he’s not been the most active fighter but his winning streak is good and he’s looking to move towards the upper rankings with another win here. Can’t complain even if I disagree, the first round was close enough to warrant it. Mic time for Zahabi, he feels he won the first and third rounds. He says he leaves it all in the cage every time, that’s debatable. He admits to being stunned in the second but got through it. Asked about the future he wants Sean O’Malley, seems unlikely but alright.

Holland avoids a trip then Malott knees him in the groin again. Replay shows the knee was low and Holland is down and taking his time trying to recover. That was a pretty bad one, no point deduction though because MMA refs are absolute cowards about rule enforcement. The absolute state of MMA officiating man, it’s beyond pathetic. Mic time for Malott, he jokes about hitting the groin being part of the plan but at this point I’m not sure anyone’s joking about that. He sucks up to the crowd for a bit to close.

Brendan Allen took this fight on fairly short notice but he’s coming off of a win over Marvin Vettori that broke a two fight losing streak.
