Khabib Nurmagomedov on Dustin Poirier Beating Conor McGregor: ‘Good Always Defeats Evil’

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had high praise for Dustin Poirier, who scored his second win over Conor McGregor at last night’s UFC 264 event. In the main event, Poirier won by TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage after the first round due to McGregor injuring his foot.
In a post on Twitter today, Numragomedov wrote on Dustin Poirier wrote, “Good always defeats evil. Very happy for @DustinPoirier I hope you will get the belt end of the year.” You can view that tweet below.
Nurmagomedov had his own issues with McGregor. The two fought for the title at UFC 229 in October 2018. Nurmagomedov beat McGregor by submission in the fourth round. Things remained heated after the fight, and there was a post-fight brawl. Both men later received hefty fines and suspensions as a result of the brawl. There was also the earlier 2018 incident where McGregor and his entourage attacked a UFC bus in order to try and get at Nurmagomedov in retaliation for an incident between Nurmagomedov and McGregor’s teammate, Artem Lobov.
This marks Poirier’s second win over McGregor this year. He beat McGregor earlier this year at UFC 257 last January by TKO in Round 2. McGregor won their first fight by knockout in the first round at UFC 178 in September 2014.
