NSAC Suspends Diego Ferreira Suspended 12-Months For Failed Drug Test
June 21, 2016 | Posted by
According to mmajunkie.com, the NSAC suspended Diego Ferreira (12-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) 12 months for a failed pre-fight test before the UFC Fight Night 88 event. His test came back positive for Ostarine, a selective androgen receptor modulator with steroid-like properties. The testing was conducted by USADA.
Ferreira appeared without representation at today’s hearing, and reportedly struggled to keep up with the commission’s questions about his positive test and his responsibilities under the UFC’s anti-doping program. The voting for his suspensions was unanimous, and is retroactive to May 13th, which is the day he was removed from the fight.
