Sergio Moraes Not Happy With Split Draw at UFC 198

May 16, 2016 | Posted by Larry Csonka

– Sergio Moraes spoke with mmajunkie.com following his split draw at UFC 198 with Luan Chaga. Here are the highlights…

On Having a 10-8 Against Him: “I’m against talking about judging,” Moraes said. “It’s every athlete’s duty to go there and do their best. I’m very honest. I think I lost the first round. I was knocked down once or twice. But a 10-8 sounds a bit much. It wasn’t that much of a beating. It was a knockdown, cool, but I was alive, in one piece, all good.”

On Not Finishing The Fight: “I had my chance and couldn’t finish the fight,” Moraes said. “Even though I think I won, I could have lost. I’ll go home feeling like I lost. You won’t see me all happy, doing interviews and laughing because I got a draw.”

On Leaving It Up To The Judges: “I can’t complain,” Moraes said. “The fight happens and they can score it however way they want it. Many times, when we leave it up to the judges, they make us cry – and that’s the truth.”
