Speaking at last night’s post-fight press conference (via MMAjunkie) for The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale, former Bellator lightweight champion Will Brooks discusses his successful debut against Ross Pearson. Below are some highlights from the presser.

Brooks on wanting the best for everybody: “I’m a guy who wants the best for everybody, regardless if you fight in my weight class,” said Brooks, who entered the week No. 11 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings. “I get so excited for people when they accomplish their goals and things like that. So to see him get out there and accomplish his goal that he set for himself, of course, you get excited for that. It’s a positive thing.”

Brooks on how you can’t hang out in MMA: “We have a very small window in this sport. There’s like no hanging out. You don’t want to just be a face in the crowd. I’m definitely going to be doing my best to get on the fast track to the title.”
