Apple Picks Up Rights to New Peanuts Shows and Specials

Apple will be the home of a series of new Peanuts TV shows and specials, according to a new report. The Wrap reports that DHX Media will produce new content based on the Charles Schulz property, including an original short-form STEM series that will feature Snoopy as an astronaut.

Peanuts Worldwide and DHX Media will work together to develop and produce the programs, which are based on the characters created by Charles M. Schulz. In addition to the long-running comic strip, the characters have been seen in The Peanuts Movie in 2015 as well as specials It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

The content will begin airing on Apple next year.
