Marvel’s Black Panther is, unsurprising, looking to be a hit. Just how big a hit, however, is impressive. THR reports that the Marvel Cinematic Universe film is aiming for a $100 million to $120 million start.

Keep in mind, these numbers are still early and can fluctuate, particularly if the film gets positive reviews. By example, Wonder Woman was tracking for a $65 million start three weeks out, the same margin as Black Panther is from now. It ended up opening on the backs of very critical acclaim and positive buzz to $103.3 million.

Even if it doesn’t and up beating out current tracking, Black Panther will still obviously be massive. The previous record for a Marvel Cinematic Universe solo franchise starter is Spider-Man: Homecoming, which opened to $117 million in July of last year. Other recent solo film starters include Doctor Strange ($85.1 million) and Ant-Man ($57.2 million).

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther opens on February 16th and follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
