Blumhhouse Reveals New Poster For The Grudge

A new poster for The Grudge is online, featuring a familiar motif to fans of the franchise. Bloody Disgusting reports that the poster, which you can see below, was given out at New York Comic Con over the weekend. It features a bathtub with a familiar shock of black hair and an ominous-looking bloodspot.

The new film is set in America and takes place at the same time as the Sarah Michelle Gellar-starring 2004 English-language reboot of the J-horror franchise. Set within that film’s universe, it stars Andrea Riseborough as a cop in a new town who comes across a seemingly-unexplainable case. That case leads her to a house that has been cursed, much like the one in the Japan-set film.

Lin Shaye, Demian Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, Jacki Weaver, and Frankie Faison also star in the film, which is set for release on January 3rd, 2020.
