Cathy Yan to Direct Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey DC Movie

Warner Bros. has found their director for the Harley Quinn-featuring Birds of Prey DC Extended Universe movie. Deadline reports that Cathy Yan, whose debut film Dead Pigs won Sundance’s World Cinema Dramatic Award for Ensemble Acting earlier this year, will helm the movie.

The film began development in May of 2016, with Robbie’s Harley Quinn set to be the villain and several DC female characters set to appear in the movie. Christina Hodson (Bumblebee) wrote the script. She is also set to write the Batgirl solo film.

Robbie will begin filming on the movie after she finishes working on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
