Sony Pictures kicked off its keynote presentation at the 2026 CinemaCon with a nice showcase for this summer’s new Spider-Man sequel, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group Chairman Tom Rothman introduced the showcase, along with help from a hologram version of Tom Holland, who provided background on the clip in a pre-recorded video.

The new scene features Peter Parker (Holland) noticing his old friend, Ned (Jacob Batalon), purchasing some kegs at a convenience store. Of course, Ned no longer remembers who Peter is due to the events of the last movie.

Peter follows Ned back to his apartment, where he’s holding a college party. Although Ned no longer remembers Spider-Man, he still has a fixation on the costumed hero, as Peter notices a bulletin board, as Ned seeks to uncover Spidey’s identity. His two top suspects are humorously revealed as Flash Thompson and science teacher Roger Harrington from the previous movies.

Ned also reveals he’s developed a Spider-Tracker app to track down Spidey sightings. Of course, Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson (Zendaya), who also doesn’t remember Peter, soon appears. It’s a bit of an awkward meeting, as Peter brought flowers, saying they’re a housewarming gift. MJF and Ned are still friends. Peter then notices MJ having a conversation where she embraces and kisses her new boyfriend, clearly happy in her life, not having remembered Peter.

The scene was followed by a sizzle reel, which again featured the narration from the earlier trailer about the life cycles of spiders. There’s new footage of Spider-Man being cornered by Damage Control troopers. Spidey says something to the effect, “So it’s like that.” He then begins humorously stretching before the soldiers open fire, and Spidey dodges their gunfire. That was definitely a fun moment, capturing the spirit of the character.

The new poster features an image of MJ’s reflection in one of the lenses of Spidey’s mask. The other features Spidey battling the evil ninjas known as The Hand (see below):
