Cody Rhodes Rumored For Cameo In Naked Gun Reboot

A new rumor has Cody Rhodes joining the cast of the upcoming Naked Gun reboot in a cameo. The Daily Mail reports that the Undisputed WWE Champion will make a cameo in the upcoming film, citing insiders involved with the production.

Those sources say that he may play a hypnotized version of himself in a nod to the 1988 classic spoof comedy. MLW great Reggie Jackson played a hypnotized assassin in the original.

The new film stars Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson and is based off the original film, which was a film adaptation of the 1982 spoof series Police Squad! and starred Leslie Nielson as Lt. Frank Drebin. Akiva Schaffer is directing the new film, which came from a script by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand and Schaffer. Neeson will play Drebin in the new film, while Anderson will play the love interest akin to Priscilla Presley’s role in the original.

A July 18th, 2025 release date has been set by Paramount for the film.
