Colin Farrell Says The Batman Script is ‘Beautiful, Dark and Moving’

Colin Farrell is excited to jump into his role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, offering some hefty praise for Reeves’ script. Farrell is set to play the Penguin in the DC Comics film and, while doing press for his role in Guy Ritchie’s about-to-release crime comedy The Gentleman, talked about the script during an appearanc eon Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“I’m in the process of talking to Matt Reeves who wrote a beautiful, dark, moving script…gorgeous,” Farrell said. “It’s all very ‘hush hush,’ but it’s a really beautiful script he wrote and he has real love for it. So we’re just finishing up designing the aesthetic for the character.”

Farrell stars alongside Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as playing Riddler, John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Peter Sarsgaard in a role believed to be that of Two-Face. The film is in pre-production with a June 25th, 2021 release date set.
